One of the best landfills in eastern nc. But with that being said the current loader operator at the inbound building is hateful and lazy. He treats people poorly. He leaves his loader for long periods and when he returns if you aren't looking directly at him, he acts as if you are an idiot and holding him up. Absolutely the most horrible employee at this site. All other employees are a pleasure to work with and very helpful.
There is nothing like a good dump!
This is the worst system for disposing of waste that I have ever seen. I have lived in Cobb county, Georgia, Moore county, NC, and Spartanburg county, SC. All of them have clean sites to dispose of household waste that are clearly labeled as to what each bin accepts. This county landfill is indeed a "dump" that should be used for commercial waste only. It is filthy and difficult to locate the individual disposal areas. The convenience center at Sunset Beach is anything but convenient. The hateful individual that works there is surly and disagreeable and discourages you from disposing of anything but household trash. Electronics, ha! Brunswick county should be ashamed of these facilities!
